What's up there in the sky? The moon has a huge ring around it. Does anyone know what it is?

It's called a lunar halo. It's a weather phenomenon, caused when light from the Moon is refracted by ice crystals high up in the Earth's atmosphere. In principle it is similar to a rainbow. They can sometimes be quite spectacular.
