Bunring DVD's?

I am trying to burn some movies so that i can watch them at a friends house. I got the movies through a bittorrent and then got a program called DVD Flick to encode them. The DVD's are done burning and i take it to a friends house and pop it in his dvd player, the movie plays but about 3 minutes into the movie it freezes, it does this on every dvd player ive tried, can i please get some help. yes i know its wrong to do this but cmon now.....all i want to know is how to take a movie that i downloaded and get it to work on dvd players
