How do you sharpen an oil pastel?

i usually just draw with the round end... but if i want a thinner line i hold the pastel on an angle and draw with the very edge. I suppose if you really wanted to sharpen it an have a very fine definite line you could sharpen it with a general kitchen knife? that would work.
