Can a player have self-respect?

I know this male dancer who thinks pretty highly of himself and takes care of himself. He doesn't drink, smoke and always takes care of himself and his body and he's quite charming. However he is known as quite the player and doesn't really respect the opposite . My question is: is taking good care of oneself self-respect (in which case he does have self-respect), or is self-respect something else (like not sleeping with every girl he comes into contact with)? Can he have self-respect but not respect others at the same time?
